Alice: Madness Returns has a great game trailer that effectively shows the general plot without giving away too much of the story. It highlights the environments, and levels by using only game scenes. Too many games advertise with animations that often times show something of better quality than the in-game graphics.
This trailer shows both cut scenes and gameplay, using narration that’s from the game. It combines 2D moments in the beginning and during narration with the Cheshire Cat and parchment, which is important since a good deal of the cut scenes are animated in a cut paper-puppet sort of way. It also conveys the cartoonish horror that is the art style throughout the game. As for the environments, the trailer depicts a few to give a sense of the games use of surrealism, that in itself makes the game interesting to explore.
Lastly, the trailer has a similar progression to the game. It starts tense, conveying the protagonist’s fear, which turns to wonder as Wonderland is shown, and then progresses deeper and deeper into the madness as more of Wonderland is revealed.

I highly recommend this game to anyone interested in a good story. As the protagonist realizes her madness you, the player, do too. The game effectively captures anxiety, and fear to the point where some levels became unbearable, not due to mechanics, but due to environment, audio, and the overall atmosphere of the game.
